【内容简介】
纯真的里约热内卢少年桑德罗目睹母亲在自家的杂货店被前来抢劫的小混混枪杀，在此之后，桑德罗的生活就迷失了方向，他与黑帮分子混在一起，不但吸食起毒品来，自己也成了毒贩。在躲过了里约警察对毒贩的清洗活动后，桑德罗被多年来一直寻找儿子的梅利莎误认为自己的孩子，她尽全力帮助他，但他还是不能逃脱不了朝不保夕的生活，而在使用了毒品后，他便劫持了一辆公交车。桑德罗与警方对峙了五个小时，而电视台的直播令形势更加紧张，最后，悲剧不可避免地发生了。
《巴士惊魂》故事来自发生于2000年6月12日的一起真实的公交车劫持案，而且已经在2003年先被拍成了一部纪录片。本片导演布鲁诺?巴雷托少年成名，21岁时就以一部性喜剧《多娜和她的丈夫们》（dona flor and her two husbands）奠定影坛地位，此后，他穿梭于巴西和好莱坞两地。这次，他一改自己熟悉的喜剧风格，拍摄了这部《巴士惊魂》，这部以巴西街头少年和暴力为题材的影片即便不能达到《上帝之城》的高度，也必将以其真实犀利的风格震撼全世界的观众。
