The Spring Festival
Dear teachers and dear classmates,
Good morning/afternoon! My name is ______. Today, I’m very happy to talk about my favorite festival—the Spring Festival.
The Spring Festival is the most important festival in China. We also call it Chinese New Year. It usually comes in January or February. Before the festival, my family and I are always busy. We clean our house, buy new clothes, and go shopping for delicious food. My mom always cooks a lot of tasty dishes.
On New Year’s Eve, my whole family gets together. We have a big, happy dinner. We eat dumplings, fish, and many other nice foods. After dinner, we watch TV and talk happily. I love staying with my family.
When the clock strikes twelve, we say “Happy New Year!” to each other. I can get red envelopes from my parents and grandparents. That’s my favorite part! I feel so lucky and excited.
During the Spring Festival, we visit relatives and friends. We say “Gong Xi Fa Cai!” Everyone smiles and has a good time. The streets are very busy and beautiful.
The Spring Festival is warm and wonderful. It lets family stay together and brings us lots of joy. I love the Spring Festival, and I love our great Chinese culture.
