【内容介绍】 年轻的摩托车手约翰尼?布雷兹（尼古拉斯?凯奇）在墓地地发现一辆古怪的摩托车，出于职业性的好奇他骑了上去却被带到魔王墨菲斯特（彼得?方达）的身边，墨菲斯特诱惑约翰尼为他服务，条件是可以拯救他生命中的挚爱：病危的父亲。约翰尼救父心切便无奈地把灵魂出卖给魔王并从此和青梅竹马的恋人洛珊（伊娃?门德斯）分开。
可是约翰尼的父亲依然没逃过厄运，几年后他子承父业成为一名出色的摩托车特技人,魔王和他的交易也在进行中：白天他是被闪烁的镁光灯和鼎沸的人海喧哗包围的表演者，晚上则变身成浑身燃着地狱之火、驾驶着恶灵战车四处追捕藏匿在城市角落的恶魔的赏金猎人。魔王墨菲斯特这样重用约翰尼当然不是为了伸张正义，而是为了巩固自己在地狱的势力铲除世间所有威胁他的力量，包括一直不愿臣服于他、要在人间建立另一个地狱王国的的小儿子黑心魔。约翰尼认清魔王利用他的目的，他的良心也在与魔王的力量抗衡来保持内心的纯真，他要用魔王赐予他的力量在夜里行使警恶惩奸、保护良民的责任。
