一个长镜头拍摄成龙在商场中从数层楼高的天花板灯饰爬下直至撞穿下面玻璃屋顶再碰到地面起来为止，紧张刺激之余更开了成龙卖命演出危险镜头的先河，以后变成他拍摄电影
的一个特色。在剧情方面，本片也具有一个结构较严谨和戏剧性较强烈的故事，描述重案组探员陈家驹尽力缉捕大毒枭朱滔，不料在法庭审判时因证据不足而使朱滔获释。朱滔后
来更杀另一警官嫁祸陈，使他不得不自力救济找朱滔算账。林青霞与张曼玉在片中的表现各有千秋，但其身份顶多有如007 电影系列中的庞德女郎。
